What people think of their Adventures with Alex and Joe

As a reader of “Adventures of Alex and Joe”, I have particular insider knowledge as I am one of Alex’s uncles; one of Brian’s brothers; a frequent visitor to Brian, Chris and Alex; and well-known to Joe and his family.

I imagine the stories, together with their beautifully-prepared illustrations and effects, might convey many things to a multitude of readers, but to me they speak loudly of the love that thrives within Alex’s and Joe’s families, how that love sustains them and perhaps most conspicuously, the love that these two special kids (now in their 20’s) bring to their world every day.

This is what the stories say to me. They bring out highly emotional feelings in me and I hope Brian and the team publish more in the language that only they can create. Reading the stories brings tears to my eyes and, at the same time, smiles and laughter and a massive sense of admiration for the families.

The world needs more material such as this – to uncover and bring to life that which is really important in life.

It’s a gem mate

A pure and honest gem

The message is powerful and the pride deafening so much so that emotion is inevitable

Well done – 1000 words to make all fathers proud

Hi Brian,

This publication of Alex and Joe is just gorgeous – the sentiments are so profound and the images so telling. What a deeply touching publication for everyone – not just those who are dealing with disability. I think this should be part of the school curriculum for all. Both of them should certainly become publishers of their own stories – that would be fantastic!

Thank you so much for sharing that with us. It was very touching & I teared up a little at the end (so did Perry!!). It reminds us that talking is not the only form of communication & that our boys are very good at the non-verbal stuff!!
